Paul Côté has resigned as Chief Executive Officier (CEO) of the WEG 2018 Organizing Committee effective August 12, 2015.

Côté released the following statement:

Dear colleagues of the equestrian world,

As you know by now, I have left the job of CEO of the WEG 2018 Organizing Committee effective August 12, 2015.

At the request of the Quebec Minister of Transport, I have decided to return to my former duty of CEO of the Montreal Metropolitain Transit Agency (AMT) for the next four years.

I would like to sincerely thank all those who have assisted me over the last five years, either during the bid process or in the organizing committee. It has been a unique and enriching experience for me. I am very proud of what we have achieved to date.

I have a lot of confidence in the staff on the organizing committee (COJEM). They are competent and dedicated, and I am convinced that they will successfullly meet all the challenges they will face in the coming months and years.

It is with regret that I leave the job, but I am happy to have the opportunity to return to a line of business with which I am very familiar. No doubt, it will also present its share of challenges!

Thank you again to all of you, and good luck to the WEG 2018 organizing committee!

Paul Côté
